Create artworks of the Australian landscape with this purest of pigments using both drawing and painting skills.

Focusing on mark making, composition and the use of colour this workshop will bring life to your pastels by adding texture and movement.

 

Materials List

Support:

1-2 Pastel mat sheets, mid-tone (warm greys) 25x35cm (Available online at Soft pastel Australia) or larger.

Or 1-2 sheets Art Spectrum colourfix paper: colour: black or a mid-tone like Aubergine or Elephant.

Pastels: A range of hard, medium and super soft chalk pastels (not oil) Plus Pastel pencils (JF will share)

Schminke brand are great for the lights (Lemon and White in particular) or similar super soft brand.

Art Spectrum is a good affordable ‘medium’ brand and has great darks sets plus some super soft sets.

Landscape colours: tonal ranges in each colour required. Make sure you have a bright orange and turquoise.

Other items: A good hard plastic eraser and a kneadable eraser, apron, rags/paper towel, sketch book or paper & pencils. Fixative and glassine paper. If you are prone to asthma then please bring a mask.
